Summer Camps 2012
Thank you for considering Shaver's Creek Summer Camps!
Shaver’s Creek members (who are current as of the end of the December before camp) may register for Summer Camp by mail or fax as soon as they receive the Summer Camps brochure in the mail (usually arriving in early January). Phone registrations cannot be accepted. Due to the popularity of our camps, membership in the center does not guarantee that we will have enough places available in the camp week of your first preference. Registration for new members (joining after January 1) and nonmembers will begin Tuesday, February, 14, 2012. Registration forms will be available for download on and after February 14 by visiting www.ShaversCreek.org.
Please note: ALL 2012 Summer Camps at Shaver's Creek are FULL with no waitlist. Become a Shaver's Creek member in late fall 2012 to receive the 2013 Summer Camp brochure in early January.

Shaver’s Creek’s woods, streams, and meadows provide a backdrop for investigating habitats and nature’s cycles. We will use hands-on methods to learn about plants and their special adaptations. Explorer Camp (Ages 9–11, entering 4th–6th grades) The Explorers will spend their week learning about reptiles through observation and exploration. We will set off on the trails to discover and explore the many habitats surrounding Shaver’s Creek.
The Discovery and Explorer campers will spend each day in a group of about twelve children, focusing on nature awareness, natural cycles, and interrelationships of living things. On Thursday the campers should bring old shoes for stream exploration. An experienced Shaver’s Creek staff member and a leader-in-training will guide each group. The Discovery and Explorer campers and their families are invited to participate in the Friday evening picnic and camp-out. Enjoy ice cream, campfire performances, a night walk, and a Saturday morning pancake breakfast. |
